a little cloud that lives on your mac. the app itself is called awan (malay for cloud). hold control + option and it sees what you see, so you can ask anything out loud. it answers, points at the answer on your screen, or hands the job to one of your awans (your agents) to get it done.
yes, fully. the mac app, the server behind it and this website are all on github under the mit license. read how it works, run it with your own api keys, fork it, or send a fix.
yes. awan only looks at your screen while you hold the hotkey, and screenshots are never stored: they go to the model, get answered, and are dropped. we keep your account, your usage counts and what your awans need to remember. you can delete your account and everything in it from settings.
no. no hotkey, no screenshot. there's no background recording, no keystroke logging and no clipboard reading.
teach you any app step by step, explain what's on your screen, draw and point right where you need to click, type your dictation into any text box, and run agents that research, write and work inside your apps while you do something else.
talk is the conversation: you ask, awan answers out loud and points. agents are your awans doing multi-step work for you, and each message you send an agent counts toward your plan's monthly agent messages.
anything on your screen. if you can see it, awan can see it. agents can also use tools you connect yourself, through an mcp server or an api key.
for now, yes. awan is mac-only and needs macos 14 sonoma or later. you can build it yourself from the source today, or get on the list for a signed build.

on pro and max, talk and dictation keep working, always. agent messages pause until your next 30-day cycle, or you can move up to max for 1,000 a month.
